SyncTERM v1.0 has supported alternate and loadable fonts for years now and we've failed to make this feature easily available for use by Synchronet sysops. That is now fixed (compatible with Synchronet v3.16 and later): http://wiki.synchro.net/config:fonts.ini
If you've logged into Vertrauen lately using SyncTERM, you might've noticed some "images flashing by". This isn't "ANSI art", but rather bitmap images scraped off the web and plastered into custom downloaded fonts and displayed in your character-based terminal! See http://wiki.synchro.net/ref:xbin
And on the horizon...
Deuce has been inspired (challenged?) to enable even more cool features in SyncTERM 1.1 (or whatever the next version number will be after 1.0, but currently called 1.1b):
- custom palletes (traditional XBin files look awesome!)
- hi-res/hi-color graphics
A lot of major changes are underway under the SyncTERM hood, so be sure to keep v1.0 or whatever version you're happy with handy if you decide to play with the current development builds (of SyncTERM). Stability will come with time and testing.
